About

I am currently a Senior Knowledge Graph Engineer at SAP Business AI . Previously, I worked as a Senior Data Scientis & Research IT Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and the Berlin Institute for the Foundation of Learning and Data in Berlin focusing on data extraction and insight generation from heterogenous and messy data using Computer Vision and Knowledge Graphs.

In that, I mainly handled image data, extracting unstructured texts, visual elements, and reconstructing reading order and page layout to facilitate the digital processing of their content. These documents vary in layout, content and time period, presenting unique challenges to estabilihsed machine learning methods. These were stored and managed with Knowledge Graphs, which enbaled the generation of new insights from a high-level perspective through the analysis of metadata, as well as communities and embeddings from domain specific derived graphs.

My work also includes audio and text modalities (e.g., audio file transcription and NLP). Most recently, my work also includes the investigation and development of Large Language Model applications that can be used to facilitate research and knowledge recovery within the humanities domain.
